  3. Prepare lesson notes, instructional materials, demonstrations, and practical activities before each class.

  4. Adapt teaching methods to suit different age groups, abilities, and learning needs.

  5. Encourage originality, experimentation, confidence, and independent artistic expression among learners.

  6. Ensure that every lesson has clear learning objectives and measurable outcomes.

B. Classroom Management and Learner Welfare

  1. Maintain a safe, organised, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.

  2. Manage learners effectively and ensure active participation during lessons.

  3. Handle art tools, paints, scissors, and other materials responsibly, observing all relevant safety precautions.

  4. Promote respect, teamwork, discipline, and care for shared materials.

  5. Report any safeguarding concerns, accidents, injuries, or incidents promptly through the appropriate YAG reporting channel.

C. Art Materials and Resource Management

  1. Identify and prepare the materials required for each lesson.

  2. Keep an accurate record of materials received, used, and remaining.

  3. Ensure that all equipment and art materials are handled carefully and stored appropriately.

  4. Minimise waste and encourage learners to use resources responsibly.

  5. Notify the YAG Programme Coordinator of material shortages or additional resource requirements in good time.

D. Assessment and Documentation

  1. Assess learners’ progress through practical exercises, projects, observation, and completed artworks.

  2. Maintain accurate attendance records and records of learners’ participation and progress.

  3. Photograph or document learners’ artwork where authorised and in accordance with the school’s child-protection and privacy policies.

  4. Submit lesson reports, progress updates, assessment records, and other required documentation within the stipulated deadlines.

  5. Identify learners with exceptional artistic potential and recommend opportunities for further development.

E. Projects, Exhibitions, and Special Activities

  1. Support the preparation of learners’ artworks for exhibitions, showcases, competitions, and other YAG-approved activities.

  2. Contribute creative ideas for school art projects and themed assignments.

  3. Assist with the planning and execution of YAG exhibitions and other approved events when required.

  4. Ensure that learners’ work is properly labelled, preserved, and presented professionally.

F. Professional Conduct and Communication

  1. Arrive punctually and adhere strictly to the assigned teaching schedule.

  2. Maintain professional relationships with school staff, learners, and other stakeholders.

  3. Communicate professionally and respectfully at all times.

  4. Follow YAG’s curriculum, policies, teaching guidelines, and reporting procedures.

  5. Direct all official programme-related communication, requests, complaints, and administrative matters through the designated YAG coordinator.

  6. Refrain from negotiating fees, making independent commitments, or entering into separate service arrangements with partner schools on behalf of YAG.

  7. Protect confidential information relating to YAG, partner schools, learners, and programme operations.

  8. Participate in required training, evaluation sessions, and professional development activities.

3. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work independently while following organisational guidelines.

  • Commitment to child safeguarding, professional ethics, and confidentiality.

4. PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

The Art Facilitator will be evaluated based on the following:

  1. Punctuality and attendance.

  2. Quality and consistency of lesson delivery.

  3. Learner engagement, participation, and artistic development.

  4. Compliance with the approved curriculum and teaching timetable.

  5. Proper management of art materials and equipment.

  6. Timely submission of lesson reports and other required records.

  7. Professional conduct and adherence to YAG policies.

  8. Contribution to projects, exhibitions, and the overall success of the programme.

5. REPORTING AND ACCOUNTABILITY

The Art Facilitator reports directly to the designated YAG Programme Coordinator or Management representative. All lesson-related concerns, school requests, resource needs, incidents, and programme updates must be communicated through the approved reporting structure.

The facilitator is expected to represent YAG positively and protect the organisation’s reputation in every assigned school.

6. TERMS OF ENGAGEMENT

The facilitator’s remuneration, teaching schedule, assigned school, payment conditions, and other contractual terms shall be communicated separately in the engagement letter or contract.

The facilitator is expected to complete all assigned teaching responsibilities, documentation, and reporting requirements before the relevant service cycle is considered complete.
