1.2 Acceptance

You accept these Terms by creating an account, clicking "I Accept", accessing any part of our Services, or posting content / applying for jobs.

"Account" — the unique account created by a User to access certain features.

"Content" — any text, images, data, or other materials uploaded to or transmitted through the Services.

"Employer" — any User who posts job listings, searches for candidates, or hires personnel through the platform.

"Job Seeker" — any User who creates an account to find employment, apply for jobs, or showcase their profile.

"User Content" — any Content submitted by Users, including job listings, resumes, profiles, applications, messages, and reviews.

"Third-Party Services" — services, content, or websites operated by third parties linked to or integrated with the Services.

"Intellectual Property Rights" — all worldwide rights under patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret, and any other IP laws.

3.1 Account Creation

When creating an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Maintain and promptly update your account information
• Maintain the security of your password
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account

3.2 Account Types

Job Seeker Accounts

• Provide truthful information about your qualifications and experience
• Use your real name and identity — no impersonation
• Keep your profile and resume information current

Employer Accounts

• You have the authority to bind the company/organisation
• The organisation is legally registered and operating
• All job postings are legitimate employment opportunities
• You comply with all applicable employment laws

3.3 Account Restrictions

You may not:

• Create multiple accounts for the same purpose
• Create an account using false information
• Create an account if previously banned
• Buy, sell, rent, or lease access to your account
• Share your account credentials with others

4.1 General Obligations

• Comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws
• Respect the rights and dignity of other users
• Provide accurate and truthful information
• Maintain professional conduct at all times
• Report violations of these Terms to NaijaJobPortal

4.2 Compliance with Laws

You must comply with all applicable laws, including the Nigerian Labor Act, Data Protection Regulation (NDPR), employment discrimination laws, tax laws, and anti-fraud / anti-corruption laws.

Fraudulent Activities

• Posting fake job listings or employment scams
• Submitting false credentials or qualifications
• Impersonating another person or entity
• Money laundering or financial fraud

Illegal Activities

• Human trafficking or exploitation
• Pyramid schemes or MLM scams
• Drug or weapons trafficking
• Any other criminal activity

Discriminatory Conduct

• Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, age, or disability
• Any form of harassment or hate speech

Technical Abuse & Spam

• Hacking, cracking, or unauthorised access
• Introducing viruses or malicious code
• Automated scraping without permission
• Sending unsolicited bulk messages
• Creating fake reviews or ratings

Exploitation

• Requesting fees from job seekers for applications
• Bait-and-switch job postings
• Advance fee fraud or romance scams

6.1 Job Posting Requirements

• The job is for a legitimate, currently available position
• You have authority to hire for the position
• The job description is accurate, complete, and compliant with employment laws
• The compensation information is truthful

6.2 Prohibited Job Postings

• Jobs requiring illegal activities or payment from applicants
• Pyramid schemes or MLM schemes
• Jobs that discriminate against protected classes
• Postings that misrepresent the nature of the work

6.3 Candidate Data Usage

Candidate information may only be used for evaluating candidates for posted positions. Employers may NOT share candidate data with third parties, use it for marketing, or sell/rent candidate databases.

7.1 Profile and Resume Standards

• Provide accurate and truthful information
• Use real names and authentic credentials
• Do not falsify employment history or education
• Keep information updated regularly

7.2 Prohibited Activities

• Creating multiple profiles for the same person
• Using automated tools to mass-apply for jobs
• Requesting money or payments from employers
• Sharing login credentials with recruiters or services

7.3 No Guarantee of Employment

NaijaJobPortal does not guarantee interview invitations, employment outcomes, the accuracy of all job postings, or the legitimacy of all employers.

8.1 NaijaJobPortal's IP

NaijaJobPortal exclusively owns all rights to the platform software, website design, trademarks, logos, branding, algorithms, database structure, and all original content.

8.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of content you submit. By posting on NaijaJobPortal you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, reproduce, display, modify, and distribute your content to facilitate job matching and platform operations.

8.3 DMCA Notices

Copyright infringement notices should be sent to legal@naijajobportal.com.ng and must include: identification of the work, location of infringing material, your contact information, a good faith statement, and a signature under penalty of perjury.

9.1 Paid Services

Certain features require payment — featured job listings, premium employer accounts, job posting packages, and enhanced visibility services. All prices are in Nigerian Naira (NGN) unless stated otherwise.

9.2 Refund Policy

Refunds will NOT be granted for: change of mind, failure to use purchased services, dissatisfaction with results (e.g. no hires made), or account termination due to Terms violations.

9.3 Free Services

Basic NaijaJobPortal services are free. Free services may have limitations, may be discontinued at any time, and may be converted to paid features. They are provided "as-is" without warranty.

10.1 No Vetting of Users

• We do NOT conduct background checks on users
• We do NOT verify all credentials or qualifications
• We do NOT guarantee the legitimacy of all job postings
• We do NOT endorse any user, employer, or job seeker
• We do NOT mediate employment disputes

In no event shall NaijaJobPortal be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages; loss of profits; loss of data; employment decisions; actions of other users; or fraudulent activities by third parties.

This obligation covers claims arising from: your conduct and violations of these Terms; your User Content; your interactions with other users; and employment relationship disputes or hiring decisions. This obligation survives termination of your account or these Terms.

12.1 Common Termination Reasons

• Violation of these Terms or applicable laws
• Fraudulent or illegal activity
• Abuse of the platform or other users
• Non-payment of fees
• Suspicious or harmful activity

12.2 Effects of Termination

• Your right to use the Services ends immediately
• All licences granted to you terminate
• You remain liable for all obligations incurred
• No refunds will be provided
• Most User Content will be deleted within 30 days (some data retained for legal compliance)

13.1 Informal Resolution

Before initiating formal proceedings, you must attempt informal resolution by contacting legal@naijajobportal.com.ng and engaging in good faith negotiations for 30 days.

You must bring any claim within ONE (1) YEAR from when the claim arises. Claims brought after one year are permanently barred.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Lagos State. Disputes not subject to arbitration fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Federal High Court or High Court of Lagos State. Nigerian law applies regardless of your location when accessing the platform.

Your continued use of the Services after we publish changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Services and close your account.

Response Times

• Legal matters — 5–7 business days
• Support issues — 24–48 hours
• DMCA / Copyright notices — 24–48 hours
• Privacy concerns — 48–72 hours

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any additional terms, constitute the entire agreement between you and NaijaJobPortal.

Severability

If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary while the remaining provisions remain in full force.

Force Majeure

NaijaJobPortal is not liable for delays or failures due to causes beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, government actions, internet failures, or pandemics.

No Agency

No agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship is created between you and NaijaJobPortal by these Terms or your use of the Services.

Language

These Terms are written in English. In case of conflict with any translation, the English version prevails.
