Sustainable Development Initiative (SDI) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Intern to support the implementation of project finance and administrative activities in Katsina State. The intern will assist with recording transactions, maintaining financial documents, preparing payment and retirement records, checking supporting documents, tracking expenditure, and organizing project records. The role provides an opportunity for an entry-level professional to gain practical experience in financial administration, project documentation, budgeting, reporting, and record keeping within a development organization.
A
degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a
related field.
Basic
knowledge of accounting and financial documentation.
Good
knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Strong
attention to detail and ability to work with figures.
Good
organizational and record-keeping skills.
Ability
to maintain confidentiality and handle financial information responsibly.
Previous
experience with an NGO, development project or similar organization will be an
advantage, but fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
Must
be available to work in Katsina State.
Recording
and organizing the project’s financial transactions.
Prepare
and maintain the project cashbook.
Preparing
payment, retirement, and supporting documentation.
Checking
receipts, invoices, payment vouchers, and other financial records for
completeness.
Assist
the preparation of payroll and payment documentation for project staff and
field workers.
Supporting
budget tracking and monitoring spending against approved budgets.
Organizing
and maintaining accurate financial records.
Supporting
the preparation of periodic financial reports.
Reconciling
project transactions and identifying discrepancies.
Completing
other finance and administrative tasks assigned by the supervisor.
