A Telecommunications Company in FCT – Abuja is seeking an experienced and result-oriented Head, Human Resources & Admin to oversee its Human Resources and administrative functions across the Company.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership across the full spectrum of Human Resources and Administration, ensuring that the Company attracts, develops, engages, and retains high-performing employees while maintaining an efficient and well-structured work environment. The role requires a strong understanding of HR best practices, employment regulations, organizational development, employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition, and administrative operations.
As the Head of Human Resources & Admin, the successful candidate will work closely with the Management team to align people strategies with the Company's business objectives. This will involve developing and implementing HR policies and procedures, workforce planning, recruitment and selection, onboarding, employee engagement, performance management, learning and development, compensation and benefits, succession planning, and employee welfare initiatives.
The role will also provide oversight of the Company's administrative functions, ensuring that day-to-day operations are properly coordinated and that employees have the resources, systems, and support required to perform effectively. The successful candidate will be expected to establish efficient administrative processes, monitor office operations, coordinate facilities and general services, manage vendors and service providers, and ensure proper maintenance of Company assets and workspaces.
A key component of the position will be ensuring compliance with applicable Nigerian labour laws, statutory requirements, Company policies, and internal controls. The Head will be expected to maintain accurate employee records, oversee HR documentation, support payroll and benefits administration, and ensure that all employment-related processes are handled professionally, confidentially, and in accordance with established policies.
The successful candidate will also play a critical role in fostering a positive and productive organizational culture. This includes developing initiatives that promote employee engagement, effective communication, teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and employee wellbeing. The individual will serve as a trusted adviser to Management and employees on HR-related matters and will be expected to handle employee relations issues objectively and professionally.
Given the dynamic nature of the telecommunications industry, the ideal candidate must be adaptable, commercially aware, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment where business priorities may change rapidly. The candidate should possess strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
The Head, Human Resources & Admin will also be expected to use HR data and analytics to support informed decision-making. This includes monitoring key people metrics such as employee turnover, absenteeism, recruitment timelines, workforce costs, performance trends, employee engagement, and training effectiveness. The successful candidate should be comfortable leveraging HR technology and digital systems to improve efficiency, reporting, employee records management, and overall HR service delivery.
The position requires a proactive and hands-on leader who can balance strategic thinking with practical execution. The ideal candidate should be able to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization, manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately, and demonstrate sound judgment when dealing with complex employee and organizational matters.
Ultimately, the Head, Human Resources & Admin will be responsible for building a strong people and administrative framework that supports the Company's growth, operational efficiency, compliance, and long-term business objectives. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate measurable impact through improved HR processes, effective workforce management, stronger employee engagement, efficient administration, and the development of a high-performing organizational culture.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field. Masters is an added advantage.
7–10 years relevant HR experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
Professional certification such as CIPM, SHRM, HRCI or equivalent is a requirement.
Experience in IT, Telecommunications, Technology or related service industries is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of Nigerian employment practices, payroll coordination and employee relations.
Excellent communication, organizational and people-management skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage recruitment, onboarding, employee records and employee lifecycle processes.
Coordinate performance management, staff development and employee relations.
Oversee payroll inputs, benefits and statutory HR compliance.
Implement and maintain HR policies and procedures.
Supervise HR and Administration staff.
Oversee office administration, facilities, vendors and related services.
Prepare HR and administrative reports for Management.
COMPENSATION
₦640,975.00 (Six Hundred and Fourty Thousand, Nine Hundred and Seventy Five Naira, Only) Gross Monthly Salary plus Benefits.
