Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable & Receivable Accountant to manage the company’s payable and receivable transactions while ensuring accurate and timely financial record-keeping. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring the company’s incoming and outgoing financial transactions, maintaining proper documentation, and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the finance function.
The role will involve processing supplier invoices, verifying payment requests, preparing payment documentation, and ensuring that outstanding payables are properly monitored and settled within agreed timelines. The successful candidate will also maintain accurate records of supplier accounts, reconcile payable balances, and follow up on any discrepancies or outstanding issues that may arise during the payment process.
On the receivables side, the Accountant will be responsible for monitoring customer accounts, raising and processing invoices, tracking outstanding payments, and following up with customers where necessary to ensure timely collections. The role will require regular review of accounts receivable balances and the preparation of reports that provide clear visibility on outstanding invoices, overdue payments, and collection status.
The successful candidate will also be expected to perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, supplier accounts, and customer accounts to ensure that financial records remain accurate and up to date. This will include identifying discrepancies, investigating unusual transactions, and working with relevant departments or external parties to resolve accounting issues promptly.
In addition to transaction processing and reconciliation, the role will involve maintaining proper financial documentation and ensuring that invoices, receipts, payment records, and other supporting documents are properly filed and easily accessible. The Accountant will also support the preparation of periodic financial reports and provide accurate information required for management review and decision-making.
The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of basic accounting principles, strong numerical ability, and good attention to detail. The individual must be comfortable working with accounting records, handling financial information, and managing multiple transactions while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance and other relevant departments to ensure that payable and receivable processes are properly coordinated. Strong communication and follow-up skills will be important, particularly when dealing with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders regarding outstanding payments, invoices, reconciliations, and account discrepancies.
This position is suitable for a candidate who is organized, responsible, analytical, and able to work effectively within established financial procedures. The individual should demonstrate a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues and should be able to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Overall, the Accounts Payable & Receivable Accountant will play an important role in maintaining the company’s financial records, supporting efficient cash flow management, ensuring timely payments and collections, and contributing to the accuracy and reliability of the company’s accounting operations.
