The Group Treasury Officer is a senior treasury and investment professional responsible for managing the Group's cash, liquidity, funding and banking and — critically — for growing the Group's funds through active investment and trading across equities, fixed income and money-market instruments. Reporting to the Group Managing Director, the role combines core corporate treasury (cash and liquidity management, banking and funding relationships, and treasury risk) with buy-side investment and dealing: constructing and managing investment portfolios, executing equity and fixed-income trades, deploying surplus funds to generate attractive risk-adjusted returns, and managing market and trading risk within policy. The role suits a markets-savvy, numerate and disciplined treasury and investment professional with strong trading, portfolio-management and risk skills, sound knowledge of the Nigerian capital and money markets, and a track record of growing funds, typically with 7+ years' treasury, investment or trading experience.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field.
• A professional qualification is strongly preferred — CFA, ACA, ACCA, CIS (Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers), or a treasury qualification such as ACT (AMCT/MCT) / CertT.
• Minimum of 8 years' treasury, investment or trading experience, including group or multi-entity treasury and hands-on equities and fixed-income trading.
• Strong knowledge of cash and liquidity management, equity and fixed-income trading, money-market instruments, banking, funding, foreign exchange and treasury/investment risk.
• Sound understanding of the Nigerian capital and money markets (NGX, FMDQ), fixed-income and equities markets, and relevant regulation (SEC, CBN).
• SEC-sponsored / relevant dealer registration is an advantage.
